Immerse yourself in Scarborough Arts’ 34th Annual Juried Exhibition: Introspection! Join us for an afternoon of art and community! 🙂 One of mine has been selected by the panel of jurors to be displayed at the 34th Annual Juried Exhibition by the Scarborough Arts.

About the Exhibit and the theme this year: “Today, where everyone is dealing with the anxieties of daily life, it is often difficult to take time to reflect on our thoughts and feelings, to sit back and ask ourselves one question, ‘Who am I?’.

This year, Scarborough Arts invites you to join us on an introspective journey. It is a time to focus on ourselves, to develop a more thorough understanding of our core values, capabilities, and ambitions. It is a moment to realize our challenges and triumphs”.

Exhibition Dates: November 23 – December 12, 2019

Opening Reception: November 23, 12 – 4 PM

Location: Cedar Ridge Creative Centre (225 Confederation Drive)

Art Show & Sale 2019:

Toronto Public Library is featuring an artist each month at participating locations, giving them a solo exhibit to display their work. So grateful to have gotten the opportunity to exhibit mine this month. I specifically chose a location in Scarborough since these were the libraries I grew up going to. This art exhibit is a special one and means a lot ❤

Art Show for Cause 2018:

The ART for Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce it’s fourth Anonymous Art Show.

This group exhibition and fundraising event will feature work from established as well as emerging artists. This event aims to raise funds for the many free creative programs delivered by ART for Cancer Foundation, to people living with cancer.

Hundreds of original paintings created in a diverse style and subject matter will be available for sale all sized 8” x 8” x 1½” (gallery style) canvas or wood cradled panel. Each piece is priced at $100.

The artist remains a mystery, until after the purchase. Purchased paintings are immediately taken off the wall and given to the purchaser. In its place a sold tag will hang revealing the artist’s name and a photo of the art.

When:

Opening night – Wednesday Dec 5, 2018 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm
The sale continues until Sunday, December 16, 2018, giving the community an opportunity to purchase original art in time for the holiday.

Art Show & Sale 2017: Nuit Blanche 🌃

What: A little about the show ~ The Red Head Gallery presents “Who Are You?”, a yearly salon show created for Nuit Blanche. The theme allows artists to define themselves of their presence in Canada.

Where: 401 Richmond St. West Complex

When: Saturday, September 30th, 7 pm to 1 am

Why: Because art just brightens up the city 🙂

2nd year taking part in this! And I adore what the event stands for: The Salon of Inclusiveness III, is a play and positive take on the Salon des Refusés: “In 1863 two thirds of paintings presented at the Paris Salon were refused, including the works of Courbet, Édouard Manet, Camille Pissaro and Johan Jongkind. The works which didn’t align with the Emperor’s traditional tastes we’re upon protest shown in another part of the palace as the “Salon des Refusés.” The critical attention served to legitimize the emerging avant-garde in painting.”

Art Show for Cause 2016:

Since the 14th of April 2016, two terrible earthquakes and over a thousand aftershocks have hit the Kumamoto prefecture in Kyushu Japan. So far, early estimates of the damage are well into the hundreds of millions of dollars. The charity’s goal is to help get the people of Kumamoto back on their feet, so a fund-raising event is being held on June 12th, 2016 in Toronto to achieve this. All proceeds from this event will be deposited to “Call for 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake Donations”.

I’m excited to donate one of my pieces for this cause in the hopes it can help in some way!
