I’m not sure how to even express it, I’m just really ecstatic and humbled to be a part of it. This is just a first step towards ultimately doing my own artist project for the show one day. As excited as I am for having this small role in the massive citywide event, I’m just as thrilled by the theme of this show that is fitting for the year – Who Are You? The show focuses on the artists presence in Canada and what it means to each one to be a Canadian. Canada being my second home and the one I’m the most familiar with, I looked forward to making pieces that resonated with the theme. My two paintings focus on what makes me who I am in relevant to what I call home: “A Journey From” and “A Journey To”.

About the two pieces:

“A Journey From” – This is the smaller piece of the two. It takes a glimpse at a beach side island and the bright sky representing the future that awaits beyond.

“A Journey To” – focuses on the city and the multi-layers of the journey that took me and my family here. It also depicts Canada’s beauty through mountains, city scape and various colors representing multiculturalism that surrounds us, mainly here in Toronto.
